AMD (Audio Motive Distributors) introduces the first official IASCA event to S.A. The high-end 12 volt industry gets its first taste of international competition. Two IASCA judges from the U.S.A were invited guests to judge & create the starting blocks for future events. During that same year S.A's first RTTI (Rockford Technical Training Institute) training programme is held at AMD. This being the only national and international affiliated car audio training programme introduces to S.A. that still exists. Audio Motive sees knowledge as a key to success. This philosophy has proven to be true as it is & has been one of the most powerful growth engines for AMD and its dealer network. This philosophy has been maintained to date & is fundamental for dealers to qualify before representing AMD's products.

Audio Motive wins most improved international distributor of the year. Later that year AMD acquires Wain Harris Term Pro Software Distribution, since computer aided enclosure designs has always been & will continue to be the standard required by AMD. This acquisition was pinnacle to ensuring that all dealers have the means to maximise the best possible performance & reliability to Rockford Corporation's products.

Audio Motive expands it's training program with the introduction of Topgun and dealer growth reaches the 30 mark. During that same year Audio Motive acquires the distribution for the prestigious and respected brand Audio Control, having countless awards for winners of product technology and engineering.

Jerry Cave the international representative, at the time, brings Mark Fukuda, now currently head of RTTI and undefeated and longest reining spl world champ, tours South Africa together with Mark Louw known as one of the best installers in the world responsible for the design and building of the Suburban, one of many and great memorable RF Demo vehicles. Currently head of product design and at the time head of RTTI. Were invited guests to tour South Africa and attend as celebrities South Africas largest car audio event which was sponsored by RF SA held at the Village Green in Durban. This event attracted over 40 000 spectators over 2 days and was televised and had live radio coverage. No event of this magnitude, incorporating all members of the industry, has yet to be challenged.

Audio Motive wins the most fanatical Distributor of the year award and continues its dominance in the spl and sound quality arena.

Audio Motive wins for a second time the most fanatical distributor of the year award.
1999
Audio Motive is privileged to be given distribution rights for Fosgate Audionics. This is seen as important milestone for both RF corp. and AMD as this brand is the Brain child of Jim Fosgate the founder of the Fosgate mark.

Audio Motive is awarded the most prestigious international award, exactly 10 years after its conception, that being the international distributor of the year. Later that year Audio Motive acquires the distribution of the brand MB Quart. This is after RF corporations acquisition of this exclusive and highly respected German speaker manufacturer.

Reigning 2 times spl world champ Greg Cobbs and Brian Schmitt 2 times winner of the best install in the world, having build the famous Nissan Fronteer and Xterra, tours SA together with BOB (Surname). Numerous media incl. Live Topcar, 5 major newspapers and 3 radio stations covered their tour.
